Current Health Protocols
Dallas City Elementary is required to send home, or not allow in-person attendance, any student who exhibits any of the symptoms of COVID-19 including:
Fever (100.4°F or higher), headache, shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain, congestion or runny nose, new loss of sense of taste or smell, nausea, fatigue, and muscle or body ache.
We must also exclude siblings or students who live in the same household.
If we send a child home, he/she must remain out of school for 10 calendar days and are no longer exhibiting symptoms OR obtain a doctor's release to come back to school sooner than 10 days.
To lessen the impact of lost instruction and educational opportunities, students who are sent home may IMMEDIATELY transition to a "remote learner" for the 10 days they are home. Those students may return to in-person learning after the 10 calendar days have passed with no symptoms or a doctor's release has been obtained.
Children who have been excluded from school due to COVID-19 symptoms may return to in-person instruction when they are released from the doctor or 10 calendar days have passed.
If your child(ren) have even one of the symptoms from the list above, please keep them home. Thank you for understanding and helping us to ensure we limit as many health risks as possible for our students and staff.
