Mrs. Harrell

Hello everyone!  This is my second year as the Reading Recovery and RTI Teacher at Dallas City!  But, this is my third year teaching here, as I taught 5th grade my first year here.  I LOVE what I do.  Teaching reading skills and working with students to see them grow and turn into young readers brings a smile to my face.

A little bit about me:  

I am originally from Windsor, Illinois (a few hours east of here) and received my bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Eastern Illinois University.  I recently got married in the summer of 2017.  My husband and I live on a farm with our dog, Jake, and our cat, Lilly.  I love to cook, watch Cardinals baseball and Illini sports, and travel to visit family and friends.  

Reading at home makes all the difference!  Your new young readers are excited to read with you and to you!  Take time at home to share books and discuss stories!  When children have a strong foundation for reading, the sky is the limit!
